Taylor Swift Grants Dying Fan's Last Wish with Surprise Video Call

Taylor Swift granted a dying fan's final wish by surprising her
with a video call after a successful campaign on social media.

Swift, 25, made the surprise call to four-year-old Jalene Salinas, who suffers from an aggressive form of terminal brain cancer, after learning her last wish was to dance with Swift to her hit song Shake it Off.

The country singer spoke to the child on the phone for 20 minutes after Taylor's fans - also known as 'Swifties' - started a social media campaign with the hashtag #ShakeItOffJalene to help her achieve her dream.

According to USA Today, Jalene was said to be "in pain" and as a result "didn't talk much" to her heroine but she did say "bye and thank you" to the superstar.

Taylor got in touch with the girl's mother, Jennifer Arriagas, once she returned from London and agreed to the call after telling her it was "unfathomable to have to watch your baby go through this". Ms Arriagas was quick to thank Swift for taking time out of her schedule to grant her daughter's wish.

"It means so much to me that you reached out to us."
